White Campion

Identification

White campion is a short-lived perennial or biennial, which means it can live at least 2 years or longer. Leaves are pointed and opposite of each other along the stems. Open in the evening but closing by noon, the flowers are borne in open clusters on the ends of plant stems. The fragrant flowers have 5 deeply notched, white petals.

White campion is a problem in cultivated fields as well as natural areas. It is common throughout North America and Europe.
