Cottage Foods in Colorado

Colorado Senate Bill 12-048 allows individuals to produce, sell and store certain types of “cottage food” products in an unlicensed home kitchen that are non-potentially hazardous and that do not require refrigeration.

Test your dial pressure canner gauge

The USDA recommends having your pressure canner gauges tested annually. Testing your pressure canner will determine whether it is functioning properly and will help you produce safely preserved food.

Pressure canners with a weighted gauge do not need tested for accuracy because they cannot go out of calibration

Another option to get your dial gauge tested you can send it in to Presto (https://www.gopresto.com/content/canning)
